The board does not lie. Every move made — every move avoided — is a record of how a player thinks under pressure.
At the Ghaziabad District Chess Championship, four students from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, did their thinking well.
Arihant Singh claimed the Under-19 title. Soumik Chattopadhyaya took home the Under-17 Championship. Ayana Afia Arshad won the Under-15 Girls category — and all three now move forward to represent Jaipuria at the State Championship. Ditika Singh added a bronze in the Under-15 Girls category, completing a clean sweep for the school.
Chess is the quietest of competitions. It asks for patience, concentration, and the willingness to sit with a problem until the solution reveals itself. These are not skills only useful at a chessboard. They are the skills that build students prepared for everything else.
Congratulations to each of our champions. The board was yours.
