The idea of education is being continually redefined in the 21st century. Learners are exposed to digital technology at a young age. They have high aspirations and firm convictions as to what their education should constitute. Teachers are adopting new-age pedagogical practices to ensure better learning experience and outcomes. The learning spaces are evolving from physical to hybrid modes. In this dynamic ecosystem rife with possibilities of innovation, schools have to take the lead in defining the new paradigm in education.

Seth Anandram Jaipuria Group of Schools pursues a progressive vision of holistic development in each child. We nurture a zeal for academic excellence and inspire learners to develop a plethora of skills, build sporting caliber, be artistically creative and learn good values. The Health Education Curriculum in our schools creates awareness about nutrition, diet, workout, and a healthy lifestyle. Our approach to teaching is student-centered and multi-disciplinary. Practices such as project-based learning, social-emotional learning, outcome-based learning are central to our pedagogy. Our focus is on building in learners the 21st century skills of critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and ethical leadership. We teach children computational thinking for digital competence and design thinking for problem solving. Teachers in our schools undergo regular upskilling and reskilling and the school infrastructure is periodically upgraded to bring education up to par with global standards. The internationalism programmes provide students a global exposure and equip them with a broad understanding of diverse cultures. We also provide career counseling to help students chart their own learning trajectories.

Education is a collaborative exercise for us. Parents are partners in their ward’s learning. Students are children abounding with immense potential. The SAJS family keenly supports the pivotal, proactive role that an educational institution plays in the holistic development of children.

At the helm, taking the new role as the Director Principal of the school, I feel honored and privileged to be part of an educational institution where I am certain, every stakeholder is a learner and every day is an opportunity to learn and discover. I believe in preserving high standards with an absolute allegiance to strive, to understand and accentuate the educational process, using team strategies, while wholly concentrating on student achievement and happiness. Thus, as an educator my foremost role is to guide and nurture the millennials to establish skills, achieve health, respect, prosperity and fulfillment.

In my opinion, education, per se, is not just a process of bequeathing knowledge but a lifelong process which nurtures an understanding of moral and ethical values to guide the youth on the righteous path. Thus, acquiring stimulus from the school vision, I intend to nurture HAPPY children and create HAPPY environs that develop the imagination of the learners because imagination is where new ideas are created and progress becomes possible. “Imagination is rightfully, more important than knowledge” as knowledge is about what we already know, whereas imagination is what moves individuals and cultures forward. Imagination leads to innovation. As a parent, you want the best for your child and I am proud to be working with you to ensure that they are given the right knowledge and imagination to face the future challenges with aplomb.

The ability to be innovative and creative is also important to me. I enjoy being challenged and inspired by the people around me. Taking a cue from the school mission, ‘Empower, Enthuse, Excel’, I aim to empower, as well as, challenge the staff and students to also be inventive and ingenious in their learning and day to day tasks. Keeping this in mind, I wish to take the responsibility of nurturing our children’s dreams seriously and enthuse them, so that they excel in their academic journey. As it is rightly said, ‘The most glorious years are spent in the safe environs of school, where the wonder of first-time experiences craft childhood memories that will be savoured forever’.

I also am of the firm belief, that having quality, inspirational and passionate teachers is essential to a school’s success. To borrow John Hattie’s words; “teachers should build classroom climates where errors are welcome, student engagement is the norm, questioning is high and students gain reputations as effective learners.”
