The much-anticipated ‘Meet and Greet’ session between our students of grade 6 and those of our partner school in the USA took place this month. Organized under the Global Classroom Programme, this virtual interaction proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience for all participants. The session was coordinated by Ms. Heena Sharma, Head of Internationalism, who set the stage for a truly global exchange of ideas and aspirations.
The session commenced with a warm exchange of greetings, setting a friendly and enthusiastic tone. Students from both schools took turns introducing themselves, sharing their hobbies, passions, and future aspirations. The young minds demonstrated remarkable confidence as they spoke about their dreams—ranging from becoming astronauts and doctors to environmentalists and social entrepreneurs. It was heartening to see how the children resonated with each other’s goals despite being from different parts of the world.
One of the most engaging segments of the session was a discussion on how students, as young global citizens, can make a difference in their communities. The children shared their thoughts on issues like climate change, gender equality, and quality education. They exchanged ideas on small but significant actions such as reducing plastic usage, promoting kindness, and advocating for inclusive education. Their passion and determination to bring about change were truly commendable.
Adding depth to the conversation, the students delved into discussions about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With an exceptional level of awareness, they spoke about ways to contribute to goals such as Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action, and Zero Hunger. Some students shared innovative project ideas, like community gardening and local awareness campaigns, proving that age is no barrier to being a changemaker.
The session concluded on a note of camaraderie and excitement, with students expressing their eagerness for future collaborations. They exchanged cultural insights, promising to stay connected through emails, videos, and shared projects. The exchange not only broadened their perspectives but also strengthened the foundation for a long-term partnership between the two schools.
The ‘Meet and Greet’ session was a resounding success, reflecting the true spirit of global education. It reinforced the idea that the future belongs to those who dare to dream, collaborate, and work towards a better world. We look forward to more such opportunities where young minds can unite to create a brighter, more inclusive future.
