Afshan Ali, a Class 8 Cambridge student at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, brought home Gold in the 1000 metre and Silver in the 500 metre at the 3rd Uttar Pradesh State Ranking Skating Championships 2026 — held at the JSR Banked Track in Chipyana, Ghaziabad.

Speed skating is a sport built on milliseconds. On a strong push at the start, a sharp line through the turns, and the kind of focus that doesn’t let the noise of the rink reach you. Afshan delivered all of it — twice, across two different distances.
