CBSE 12th Computer Science Analysis: ‘Subjective questions were tricky’; Check paper review

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has conducted the Class 12 Computer Science and Informatics Practices exam today, March 23. The students who have appeared for the 12th Computer Science and Informatics Practices paper analysed it as easy and balanced. The CBSE 12th Computer Science paper was of 70 marks, the paper held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Deepa Sharma, HOD Computer Science, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad analysed the Class 12 Computer Science paper as easy and balanced. “The Computer Science Paper was well balanced and some of the questions from Section A were a little tricky, with moderate difficulty level. The questions were direct and within the syllabus and as per the pattern of the sample paper provided by the CBSE,” the teacher said.

Shilpi Arora, PGT Computer Science, Global Indian International School, (GIIS) Noida- “Today’s Class 12 Computer Science examination paper was strictly based on the CBSE paper pattern. MCQs were framed to check the basic knowledge of the students. Few subjective questions were tricky but our students were able to address them smartly and accurately as they had rigorously practiced sample papers. Students were able to tackle the paper with ease and confidence and they were happy when they came out of the examination centre. Overall, the paper was simple.”

Sudina (Sr. Faculty Computer Science Department), JAIN International Residential School, Bengaluru- “There was no specific area that posed a challenge, and the students were able to answer all of the programming questions. One question in Section A (Question No. 5) contained an error, and one output question in Section D had an error as well. Overall, the paper was in line with the syllabus, and the board provided a similar question paper pattern to that of the CBSE sample paper.”

Analysing the Informatics Practices paper today, Rupjyoti Kalita, PGT- Computer Science, Modern English School, Kahilipara, Guwahati said, “The paper consisted of 5 sections and every section had choices except section A (MCQ based). It was a well balanced paper. Questions were direct and within the syllabus and as per CBSE of the sample paper provided by the CBSE. The theoretical questions were easy but some programming questions were moderate.”

Section-wise analysing the Class 12 Informatics Practices paper, Pratibha Sharma, Academic Director, Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir Delhi reviewed section A as easy, section B- Balanced, section C- Dataframe questions (27 and 28) require practical knowledge, Section D- Include case study and graphs that require in- depth knowledge of the topic, Section E- Average. “The questions based on Mysql functions were drafted to test the application capability of the students. However, students who were well prepared may not find them difficult to crack. Overall, the Informatics Practices exam was quite well-designed and comprehensive in terms of covering different topics from the whole syllabus,” said the teacher.
