Book Fairs Stay Relevant

It was a grand occasion for teachers at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad who got an opportunity to visit and watch this mega festival, the World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on March 4.

For their preschool, primary, preteen, and teen pupils, teachers chose texts that would serve as windows and mirrors for students to learn about others or see themselves. Literature is a crucial tool for placing current events in context and helping pupils comprehend their own experiences.

The book fair was a spectacle to watch. Based on the theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, France was invited as its guest of honour. Each hall contained a number of stalls manned by various publishing houses. With a variety of books, periodicals, teaching aids, audio-visual materials, computer software and hardware, etc., there were local, national, and international publishers.

From the multitudinous array of books, they were under the spell of some works like Grip- Rick Pastoor, 13 things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do- Amy Morin, Communication Secrets- Carolyn Boyes, At the Age of Infinity and Beyond-David Darling Agnijo Banerjee, The Maverick Effect- Harish Mehta, The Introvert’s Edge- Mathew Pollard, Menscen and many more.

The group of educators spent three hours at the fair and relished every second of their delightful visit. They had to their name their desired topics, genres, series, and authors.
